Here is a rather lovely write up from The Canteen gig last week.

Here’s a remix I did for my good friends The Crisis Project.
A night of electronic music at Bristol’s trendy flan selling-organic beer drinking -sofa sitting-vintage wearing- tea shop, the Birdcage on Corn Street.
There are three acts playing, myself, Jilk and T-toe. Jilk and Ttoe have known and worked with London’s underground electronica label Bit-Phalanx for many years, and it was actually Jilk himself who spotted me at a Drawn Recordings night (funnily enough sharing the stage with T-toe), who asked me if i’d be interested in coming on board. Last October saw the first label release I’ve done which was through Bit-Phalanx. Essentially this night is three electronica artists playing out for no real reason other than because we love gigging. We are so excited to all be on the same show for once, (as we are endlessly supporting each other at live shows), so expect a lot of energy, a lot of foot tapping come body moving, and i’ll be there with Jason who provides mesmerising visuals to my live shows.
Its £3 which means, for those of you not so great at maths, £1 per artist.
I feel this is a reasonable deal, and if you feel otherwise, perhaps you should come in and heckle?
This week is going to be quite a busy one.
I am playing Friday night, supporting Kettel & Coppe @ the Cube Bristol.

Where i’ll be doing a late night set at the bar, for people to bob around to.

Saturday night time, to finish of the mini marathon, i’ll be releasing my second record ; A Very New Everything. @ The Looking Glass. info here.
With Coloquix , an artist from Sheffield, also celebrating a release.
With support from the rather wonderful Crisis Project, who I shared a stage with a few weeks back at Start The Bus, when supporting Chrome Sparks.

The Crisis Project
Needless to say im getting cabin fever from being in the studio for so long.
“The eponymous EP was originally released in 2012 and now gets the re-release treatment from London electronic music label Bit-Phalanx.
“It’s an exciting time for me, to have my EP re-released in anticipation of my newest material coming out in October,” Painter told Bristol Culture…”

I’ve recently been working in the studio with Ableton, for composition.
This is completely new to me, as I have only previously used Ableton for Live sets.
Here’s something I was messing around with this afternoon.
- It might be worth mentioning I have been listening to some more experimental stuff lately, retracing my university learning, Jacob Kirkeegard, Steve Reich, Alvin Lucier, the usual suspects.
and here’s what it looks like
What a night! my first gig in London, also my first gig with Bit Phalanx. Amazing music and lovely peeps thanks!
